I thought it was about time we brought this up to date.
Today was a glorious ride in autumnal sunshine. - a little fresh in the morning but as good as it gets for this time of year.
Ian, Andy, Simon and Baz set out from Handforth, joined by Helen, a former member visiting the area for the weekend.
We split up towards Glossop with Andy and Simon heading over Holme Moss and the others opting for Woodhead Pass. We all met up again at the excellent cafe in Langsett and were joined by Dave Williams who had ridden from Hayfield via Holme Moss.
After lunch Helen set off towards Holmfirth to visit a relative on the way home. The rest of us headed over the Strines road, the whole length of which has now been beautifully resurfaced. After that it was the usual struggle up Winnats with Ian and Baz opting for what is left of the old Mam Tor road.
A great ride and lets hope we have a few more days like this in the remainder of 2016.
About 86 miles for me and 8,000+ ft of climbing:
