Good to see someone from the club doing some racing.

:x :( Shocker that nobody else has entered this TLI series. :( :x

A week off work and a boat trip from Ireland is booked specifically to kick start my season next week; Getting a ride on Tuesday is part of the plan so I'll be on the start line next week.

Hope the weather stays good and the legs can take the strain.

You can only do what you can when you can, but granted some members need a kick up the backside to get them going. Remind me, what exactly is Miles training for? There's a man who needs a number on his back!!

So when are you going to race Neil I hear you say, now if I can race anybody can!
Well for the record my season will start and Mallys restart with the LVRC Elswick No1 Road Race on the 1st June and continue with Oulton Pk and the Cleansweep series at Darley Moor plus a selection of Time Trials inc' Wills Wheels 2 up on Wed 25th June.
Now I know some of you will find it difficult entering a race organised by a LBS but why not give it ago because events run by Internet Retailers are a bit thin on the ground around here!!

I'm not good enough for any of these TLI races I'm afraid.

So, mainly, I'm training because its fun !.
( and I suppose for the Grand Fondo Cymru at the end of the month).

Meanwhile...back in Gotham City, I did put a number of my front on monday.

(Not bad for an old f*rt cyclist on a bare minimum 30miles a week eh ?.
Note large number of other 'unattached' runners in top 40 ! ~ Next one I do I think I'll put Abbotsford Park RC down as my club, that'll confuse the enemy : - )]

Hurray, :) I'm doing Elswick too, hopefully we'll be in the same bunch, but I fear I may be placed in the 'youth' group. I'm also doing the Bashall Eaves LVRC the following week - far more interesting ! Can't do your clean sweep though Neil as I'm riding the 100 - I'm trying to make sure we get three in all three M and D events, perhaps in vain.

I'm not in England so I have a good excuse to not riding the WW TT.

And, as few of you have any inkling as to my 'other' life here in potato-leprechaun land, I am actually on first-name terms with the LBS here in Belfast. Probably because of the swathes of cash I've parted with; But then the LBS here is an eye-opener of a good bike shop. Stocked to the ceiling of top gear while also very cheap.

I Hope to be on the club run Sunday, so no doubt it will be raining, if not see you all then.

Is there anything I could do on the road racing scene?

Get out on the chaingang for a few sessions. This will hone your bike handling and make it safer for all. It will also lessen the shock of the step up in pace.

Then do some TLI because I think you are allowed, or some schoolboy stuff.

And then you can be my lead-out man, 24-minute boy.

If you are 15 and your parent or guardian is at is at the event you can race (open road races - not circuits closed to traffic), better to ask to go with the vets for the first few races, also ride the Oulton Park races (TLI)
Top tip - pre enter !
